2016-2017 Board Responsibilities and Duties

PRESIDENT: Scott Baldermann

DUTIES (15-20 hours/month):

  • Preside at all meetings of this local PTA
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating and the audit committees.  Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of this local PTA in order that the purposes may be promoted
  • Perform such other duties as may be provided for by the bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the board of directors
  • Appoint standing committee chairmen with the approval of the board of directors with the exception of the Nominating and Audit Committees chairmen
  • Appoint special committees, as needed, with the approval of board of directors

ADMINISTRATIVE LIAISON:    Janice Spearman

DUTIES (10-15 hours/month):

  • Act as aide to the president
  • In their designated order Vice Presidents perform the duties of the president in the president’s absence or inability to serve
  • Perform such other duties as may be provided for by the bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the board of directors

 

TREASURER: Andrea Schumacher

DUTIES (6-10 hours/month):

  • Have custody of the funds of this local PTSA
  • Maintain a full account of the funds of this local PTSA
  • Make disbursements as authorized by the president, the board of directors or the membership of this local PTSA in accordance with the budget adopted by this local PTA
  • Two officers shall sign all PTA checks.  Signers of PTA accounts cannot have disbursement authority over school/school district funds
  • Cause to be kept a full and accurate account of the receipt sand disbursements in the books belonging to the Lincoln PTSA
  • Provide a financial report to the board of directors at each meeting
  • provide an annual report of the financial condition of the organization to the membership at the meeting following the audit
  • Submit the books annually for an audit by an auditing committee selected by the board of directors.  Audit to be completed within thirty (30) days of the close of the fiscal year.  Present the completed audit to the board of directors for adoption at the first meeting following the completion of the audit.
  • Perform such other duties as may be provided for by the bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the board of directors

DUTIES (5-10 hours/month):

  • Record the minutes (decisions made and votes) of all meetings of the Lincoln PTSA and board of directors
  • Send minutes via email to board and members for approval and make necessary revisions so that meetings may be entered into record at beginning of next meeting
  • Prepare a sign-in sheet for all meetings to record attendance accurately
  • Be prepared to read the records of any previous meetings
  • File and maintain all records
  • Have a current approved copy of the bylaws
  • Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the board of directors

 

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR:  Debbie Scheer

DUTIES (5-10 hours/month):

  • Maintain membership list/spreadsheet and submit to Colorado PTA
  • Volunteer recruitment, coordination and management throughout the year
  • New parent and student welcome
  • Match volunteer interests and PTSA needs
  • Create and distribute PTSA Orientation Packets
  • Distribute membership cards

 

TEACHER REPRESENTATIVES:

  • Attend monthly board meetings
  • Represent Lincoln teachers / paras on PTSA Board

  • Update teachers/paras on PTSA news and events
