What We Do

Mission:
Lincoln PTSA Mission Statement and Overall Goals
To provide support and resources to our educators and staff while bringing our community together in effort to reach every Lincoln child’s full potential. The main goal of the PTSA fundraising efforts is to support 3 Para Professionals for the school.

Every year the PTSA raises money to support all Lincoln students. This year’s fundraising events are in November The Lincoln BASH! and the Laps for Lincoln Walk-A-Thon in May. Funds are also raised through the Partners in Education Campaign, Restaurant Nights, Box Tops for Education, Bake Sales, the Grocery Card Program, and more.

The money raised through these annual activities is used by the PTSA in the following two ways: The Faculty Grant and Lincoln Community Programs.

The Faculty Grant (formerly the PARA Fund) is given by the PTSA directly to Lincoln to provide additional, trained staffing (paraprofessionals) in every classroom. In recent years, we have seen a reduction is the DPS budget due to state funding shortfalls. Maintaining a low student to teacher ratio is an important part of our success in the classroom and the Faculty Grant provides funds to supplement these staffing needs. This year’s grant will cover the cost of 3 full-time paraprofessionals. The Faculty Grant is the single largest funding priority for the PTSA.

Lincoln Community Programs is direct spending by the PTSA to support a number of activities and needs for all Lincoln students and families. Programs and funding priorities include, but are not limited to: classroom grants and supplies, technological improvements, general facility improvements, community events, Talent and Art Showcases, Zoo Night, Science Night, Learn@Lincoln Educational Series, The Lincoln Grateful Garden, and PTSA Operations (Basecamp program, website, CO PTSA fees). The list of activities is long, but the more funds we raise, the more we can do for our children and our school!
