Description of Roles and Responsibilities

Lincoln Initiative for Classroom Staffing (LINCS): (Danielle DiMauro) Help solicit donations from Lincoln families, friends, and local businesses.
Ice Cream Social: (Teresa Ferguson, Julie Fincham, Sarah Hayes) Volunteer to make posters, shop for supplies, and most importantly, SCOOP! Take a turn passing out ice cream, then enjoy the fun evening.
Catalog / Gold C / Entertainment Book Sale (Dahna Clarke, Suzy Sabol): Volunteers will conduct school sale of Sally Foster Catalog, Entertainment and Gold C books beginning in Sept 2010. Responsibilities include publicizing sale, distributing sample books to students, collecting and tabulating orders, and distributing books.
Movie Night: (Linda Brill) Volunteers will help with set up (movie and sound), sales of food and beverages, popping and handing out popcorn, and clean up.
Fall Festival: (Liza Fitzpatrick) Volunteers are needed for numerous aspects of this fun after school event – ticket and food sales, promotion, pumpkin acquisition and “chuckin”, games, face painting, costume judging, and much more.
Walk a Thon: (Jennifer Reynolds / Elizabeth Callahan) Volunteers needed to help staff this new event.
Math & Science Nights: LEADS NEEDED. Coordinate the event including getting volunteers to man exhibit tables, set up and clean up.
Silent Auction: (Teresa Ferguson) Volunteers needed to help solicit silent auction items, plan the event, set up the event, work the event (close down auction tables, check out, etc.), and clean up the event (ensuring auction items go the purchaser).
Bake Sales: (Dahna Clarke) The PTSA has begun holding a bake sale during evening school events, particularly during the Winter and Spring Vocal Concerts. Help is needed to prepare baked goods as well as work the bake sales (set up, sales, clean up)
Field Day: Volunteers help our students enjoy a fun-filled day of activities on the school playground, orchestrated by the physical education teacher, Nancy Gregorio.
Green/Environmental: (Julie Fincham) Help Lincoln be the “greenest” school in DPS. Work on our composting project, recycling, and many other green initiatives.
Teacher Appreciation Week: (Mindy Pellegrino) Organize the popular annual “Bouquet Day” for the teachers; plan activities to make our teachers feel special!
Plan and advertise breakfast (usually baked goods and coffee) for teachers and Lincoln families. May include gifts for teachers and other special treats (raffle, etc).
Plan and deliver meal for teachers to share during fall parent-teacher conferences. (Drinks, salad, main course, dessert)
Wellness / Hospitality: (Megan O’Connor) Volunteer to work on developing healthy diet and exercise guidelines and programs at Lincoln. Help implement by planning/providing/serving snacks and meals at various Lincoln functions.
