together we can do so much.”

Current Opportunities

At neighborhood schools like Lincoln, we rely our volunteers! Everyone’s time and talents are needed, so please sign up or reach out to volunteer@mylincolnptsa.org with any questions or ideas you want to make happen.

  • Hallway Bulletin Boards: Monthly Refresh

We have 8 bulletin boards inside the school that need to be updated each month. Sometimes, staff will have materials to display and some months we’ll need your creativity to shine! When possible, we want these spaces to showcase and highlight the important work of the students and staff at Lincoln.

We’re looking to get two families to volunteer each month to share the load.

  • Background Check

Volunteers to support staff during daily, weekly or special activities like guest readers and field trips. Volunteers must:

  • Innovation Space Helpers

    Fridays, 1:45-2.15pm

Most Fridays, Ms. Heidi’s class will go to the Innovation Space. We'd love a volunteer to come in and help lead the challenges! Ms. Kate leaves instructions and supplies ready to go, so our volunteer will read and explain the challenges and then assist kids for their 30 minutes of time solving and creating, and then help tidy the space.

Sign up for as many Fridays as you'd like to help, and make sure to sign in at the office when you arrive.

  • Weekly Library Helpers

    YEAR-LONG, weekly

Ms. Noriyo is looking for volunteers to support the younger children during their time at the Library. Ideally, we would like these volunteers to commit to volunteering every week during the selected time slot. Volunteers MUST complete the DPS background check prior to volunteering.

  • Crossing Guards Needed

    YEAR-LONG

Take one day per week! Lincoln parents, Jeff Johnson and Seth Berman have already stepped up. Let Crossing Guard Amy know what days you are available by filing out the short form below.

Lincoln Elementary Volunteer Leads

2023-24

Volunteer leads help to make everything we do at Lincoln possible. Being a lead is a commitment but we’re here to support you every step of the way (and in most cases, have templates and guides for you to follow!). We’re looking for people to lead some of our awesome events and supporting activities. Once we lock in these folks, we’ll have additional opportunities to sign up to support day of events, activities and more. Read below for specifics on what you will be doing as a Lead. The PTSA is here to help you pull it off, and we appreciate you stepping up!

  • An annual tradition that brings together our entire community for Fall fun: games, food, face painting, music a haunted house and more! This lead will work closely with our lead from last year to organize the event—running point on the day of logistics! This is a fun and memorable event to help bring to life!

  • School Tours: Please reach out if you are interested in supporting our school tours! Last year, our tours were very well attended and prospective parents always appreciate the opportunity to meet current parents. (~2-3 hours per month during school choice season November to January) School tour dates are all on Tuesdays, 9-9:45.

  • BASH Committee: Work with a committed team of Lincoln parents to support our BASH Lead and make our BASH fundraising event a success. (BASH event is April 13th). There are a variety of tasks, including event planning, inputting donations into auction software, submitting applications for donations and asking local businesses for gifts, distribution of auction items, and thanking donors. (Time commitments are somewhat flexible, with a minimum of 5 hours each month. Planning will go from October 2023- April 2024.)

BASH Video: Help put together a great video for Lincoln’s spring fundraising “BASH” that showcases our Lincoln students, explains the need for ongoing fundraising and interviews some members of staff. You can work alone or in collaboration with other parents. PTSA has marketing and communications resources that will provide key support to this role.

Estimated time will depend on the time needed to produce the video. We have some content already which could be useful. Video production could begin as early as October 2023 or closer to the event.

  • Donor and Volunteer appreciation: Lincoln’s PTSA harnesses the power of hundreds of volunteers and donors. In this role, you will support efforts to thank: 1) donors who give to Lincoln and 2) acknowledge the volunteer leads who plan special events throughout the school year. (varies, on average 2-3 hours per month)

  • Grocery Rewards (King Soopers, Box Tops, Safeway): Promote our grocery rewards programs at Lincoln events and through other creative means. Grocery rewards have the potential to bring in up to $10,000 for Lincoln if we get a critical mass of families to sign up. (~2 hours per month)

  • Attend Lincoln events, capture photos and upload photos to the PTSA.
